DAY 01: ARRIVE AHMEDABAD – LOCAL TOUR

Upon arrival at Ahmedabad, welcomed by our representative and board the transport.

Transfer to Hotel and check into Hotel. In the afternoon, proceed to explore the major attractions including Calico Museum, Akshardham Temple, Gandhi Ashram and Adalaj Stepwell in Gandhinagar.

Overnight stay at Ahmedabad.

DAY 02: AHMEDABAD TO RAJKOT TRANSFER (220KMS/5HOURS DRIVE)

Have your breakfast at the Hotel.

Then Check out by 0830hrs, and then you proceed to Rajkot by road.  On the way, visit at Virpur Temple for worship. On arrival in Rajkot by evening, check in the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.

DAY 03: RAJKOT TO SOMNATH TRANSFER (189KMS/5HOURS DRIVE)

Have your breakfast at the Hotel

Check out by 0830hrs, and then you proceed for Somnath. On arrival, check in at the hotel. In the evening, we will visit the Somnath temple.

DAY 04: SOMNATH TO DWARAK TRANSFER (230KMS/5HOURS DRIVE)

Have your breakfast at the Hotel

Check out from Hotel at 0830hrs. Proceed to Dwaraka. En-route, visit Porbandar and explore the surrounding attractions. On arrival in Dwarka by evening, check into the hotel and take pleasure of an overnight stay.

 

DAY 05: DWARKA

Have breakfast at the Hotel.

Then proceed to explore Dwarka and its surrounding areas. Afternoon proceed for famous tourist destination called Beyt Dwarka – is situated on an island off the coast of western India. Return to Dwaraka and overnight stay at Dwarka.

DAY 06: DEPARTURE JAMNAGAR

  • TALALA GIR: Famous for Gir National Park and Wild Life Sanctuary. This is the only remaining home for the Asiatic Lions. The Sanctuary is a part of Kathiawar- Gir dry deciduous forests ecoregion.

Gir provides you with the unique experience of visiting a place that almost singularly plays a crucial and defining role in the preservation and sustaining of a certain species. The preservation of these lions was initiated by the Nawab of Junagadh when these were just about to enter the phase of extinction due to hunting.

The official count said that there were 411 lions in 2010. Also, there are roughly different 2375 species of fauna here with 38 species of mammals, over 300 species of birds, 37 species of reptiles, and over 2000 species of insects. Other important wildlife forms found here are leopard, chausingha, spotted deer, hyena, sambar deer, and chinkara.

  • SOMNATH: Somnath, literally meaning ‘lord of the moon’ is a pilgrim center and is home to one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. It is a town that derives much of its identity from the mythology, religion, and legends that surround it.

Primarily a temple town, Somnath is a place where a strong scent of religion and legends lingers around tourism and even daily life. Its spiritual environment is ornamented by the huge number of temples in the area, however, Somnath also offers beaches, museums, and other attractions.   • DWARKA: The western tip of the Saurashtra peninsula in Gujarat.     • MODHERA: Modhera is an ancient village, famed for housing the remains of the Sun Temple built by the Chalukya dynasty is a true historical treasure. The village is surrounded by a mystical aura that the Sun Temple, it is also a hub for spirituality and culture.
    • WILSON HILLS: Clouds floating close to the ground, lush green forests, pleasant climate and intriguing view of the sea from the hilltop – Wilson Hills is an ideal place for nature lovers.

Situated at a distance of 123 Km from Surat and around 54 Km from Valsad, Wilson Hills has an elevation of around 2,500 feet from sea level.

    • WANKANER: Situated at the bending point of River Macchu. Wankaner is a princely town known for its royal lineage and heritage monuments. ‘Wanka’ meaning ‘bend’ and ‘ner’ meaning ‘river’ together it is known as Wankaner. The city was originally ruled by Jhala Rajputs, so the place knows as Jhalawar.
    • NARGOL BEACH: A beautiful and serene beach prolifically spread over an area of 16km. The beach is not ideal for swimming, It is a perfect place for leisure walks or a picnic. Agiary (Fire Temple) is situated very close to the Nargol beach and is visited by a large number of Parsi pilgrims.
    • SARDAR SAROVAR DAM: Located near Navagam, is a massive gravity dam built on the River Narmada which was built to conserve water and help the environment. The foundation of the project was laid down by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1961 and the construction work for the same was started in 1979. the natural beauty at the spot- the gushing water of the river and lush greenery of the littered trees, make it one of the most popular tourist spots in the city.
    • RATANMAHAL SLOTH BEAR SANCTUARY: Ratanmahal Sloth Bear Sanctuary is a hilly isle known to be the home of the Sloth Bears in Dahod District. The River Panam originates from within this scenic sanctuary and meets the Orange River at the foothills of Ratanmahal. It is also known for the Mira waterfalls within the sanctuary. You may spot a black panther, leopard, or a four-horned antelope during a two-hour trek to the falls.
    • ZAZARI WATERFALLS: The Vatrak River of Dehgam, Gujarat boasts of the Zanzari Waterfalls. The main waterfall is 25 feet high and lands on a picturesque set of rocks, boulders, and craters.

The flow slowly reduces, being a perfect picnic spot around summer. Sunrise and sunset times are a good time to visit, avoiding the scorching summer heat. Do wear strong sports shoes and carry food if you choose to visit.

    • TARANGA HILLS: Taranga refers to a three-peaked hill located in the Mehsana district, on the banks of the river Sabarmati. Taranga Hills holds great importance for Jains as they consider it to be one of the five most Mahatirthas. The famed Ajitnath Jain Temple is located here. Though the hills are a major pilgrimage site for the Jains, the temples’ architecture is a delight to anyone, not just to a person from the Jain community

  • INTERNATIONAL KITE FESTIVAL or UTTARAYAN: One of the main festivals in Gujarat that marks the beginning of the harvest season and is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal. The sky fills up with colorful kites of all shapes and sizes, and people engross in fun-filled competitions wherein the goal is to cut others’ kites while keeping your own in the sky for the longest time possible. The main event is celebrated in Ahmedabad, but as it is the harvest festival of Gujarat it is celebrated across the state.
  • MODHERA DANCE FESTIVAL: Also known as Uttarardh Mahotsavis, 3days festival to experience the essence of classical Indian dance and music. The epic masterpiece of the Solanki Empire, Modhera Sun Temple, reverberates with the rhythmic beats of prancing steps during the festival. To revive year’s old traditions and respect the rich cultural legacy of the past, Modhera Dance Festival is revered with fanfare.
  • BHAVNATH MAHADEV FAIR: Bhavnath Mahadev Fair is a five-day affair dedicated to Lord Shiva. The sages riding on elephants blow shells and lead processions, marking the commencement of this fair. Dance, music, prayers, and offerings are performed during this enlivening festival. People before coming to the shrine do parikrama around Girnar Hill. It takes place at Bhavnath Temple, Junagadh. The fair organized during Maha Shivaratri.
  • RANN UTSAV: This is the main festival in Gujarat. Celebrated at The Great Rann Of Kutch in between the sparkling white sand. From folk dance (Garba, Hallisaka, and Tippani) performance to scrumptious Gujarati thali, from moonlit camera safari to folk dramas, the festival is organized to celebrate uniqueness and culture of the Kutch region. The Utsav takes place from October to February.
  • KAVANT FAIR: Kavan Fair is one of the harvest festivals of Gujarat mainly celebrated in the tribal regions. Celebrated with pomp and show in the North-Eastern region of Gujarat. People gather together to discuss matrimonial prospects, barter good and traditional dance is performed which draws people to the enchanting festival. the highlight of this whole celebration is that the performers color their bodies in different vibrant shades and designs. The colors are made of rice and ash. The fair celebrates after the third day of Holi.
  • CHAITRA VICHITRA MELA: Celebrated in the month of March (a fortnight after Holi), Chitra Vichitra is the largest Tribal festival in Gujarat. Chitra Vichitra Mela is held on the new moon eve. All the women gather at the riverfront and mourn for their dead relatives. The next day fair splashes off with everyone dressed in different colors. All the men don a blue shirt, dhoti, and a red or saffron fenta or turban while the women are decked up in ghagras along with heavy silver jewelry.
  • MADHAVRAI FAIR: Madhavrai Fair takes place in a small village Madhavpur. Located on the shore of Porbandar, it is a significant place in Gujarat. The Madhavrai Fair is conducted to celebrate the wedding of Lord Krishna and Devi Rukmini. It takes place in the Chaitra month of the Hindu Calendar
  • RATH YATRA: The rath yatra entourage passes through different parts of the city. The devotees pull three small chariots with the idols of Lord Krishna, his brother Lord Balarama, and their sister Subhadra throughout the city. Devotees, in thousands, take to the streets on that holy day to worship the deities. A traditional and cultural extravaganza in which exciting parade and prayers take place.
  • JANMASHTAMI: one of the most-awaited festivals celebrated in Gujarat, Lord Krishna’s birth in an exhilarating manner in Dwarka. People forming a human pyramid, and then one amongst them climbs to the top to break the Dahi handi, and the crowd cheers. This famous religious festival in Gujarat is known for its Dahi handi ceremony. Janmashtami is celebrated in the month of August
  • BHADRAPURNIMA FAIR: Bhadra Purnima Fair is a festival in Gujarat that is held on the full moon of Bhadrapad at the temple of the goddess Ambaji in the city of Ambaji. As there is no idol in this temple, thus the representation of the deity is done through a triangular object called Vishwa Yantra. N the day people, especially agriculturists visit the temple for a favorable view of the diety and to attend readings of the Sapatashati, the seven hundred verses in praise of the goddess. As the evening knocks on the door everyone has a gala time by performing Garba and Bhavai.
  • TARNETAR FAIR: People who wish to peek into the lifestyle of the Gujarat people should be a part of the Tarnetar festival. Tarnetar Fair is a 3-day long festive fair hosted in the Village of Tarnetar. The celebrations are inspired by the grand swayamvar of Draupadi, one of the most significant female characters from the Sanskrit epic, Mahabharata. The fair is like a massive wedding feast for locals and is attended by more than 1 lakh people from across India. It takes place in August or September as per the Georgian calendar.
  • RAVECHI FAIR: Every year, usually in the month of September, the salt desert of Kutch comes to live with Ravechi Fair. During this festival, a large number of Hindu pilgrims gather in this region. This popular traditional festival involves the singing of folk songs and performances of traditional dance forms. Showcasing the local lifestyle of Gujarat, various art workshops and exhibitions are held. Usually, it takes place in the month of September.
  • NAVARATRI: Description of Gujarat festivals is incomplete without the mention of Navratri. Celebrated for nine long days with huge pomp and show, Navratri is dedicated to all the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Navratri is a traditional festival in Gujarat. You will come across the celebration in every nook and corner of the state. Three things sum up Navratri; Dandiya, Garba, and lots of fun. Navaratri begins in October or November. The festival begins on the first day of the Hindu month Ashwin.
  • BEACH FESTIVAL: One of the main festivals in Gujarat is the Beach Festival that is organized on the famous Tithal Beach. During this festival, the whole area of the beach is decorated with lights and several shows are hosted. From music events to magic shows and dance performances, there is a lot to explore during this festival. Moreover, you can also indulge in activities like volleyball, beach cricket, and water ball. Attending this festival might make your spirit sing with happiness. Usually celebrates in October-November month.
  • SHAMLAJI MELO: Shamlaji Melo or Kartik Purnima Fair takes place on the premises of immaculately crafted Shamlaji Temple. Devotees in large numbers arrive at the Shamlaji fair on foot or camel carts, singing devotional songs. People dancing and carrying banners bearing sacred symbols is a common sight that sets a cheerful mood. They worship the deity and bathe in the holy waters of the Meshwo River. The fair is organized around November, with Kartik Purnima being the most important day, and lasts for three weeks.
  • VAUTHA MELA: Vautha Fair to Gujarat is what Pushkar Mela is to Rajasthan; the only distinction is the Vautha Fairtrade of donkeys and camels take place. Beautifully decorated animals, stalls selling everything from handicrafts to machinery, Hindu traditions being performed on the river banks, tents, and delicious local cuisines. This five-day festival falls on the full moon night of Kartik month of the Hindu calendar (November).
  • PARAGLIDING FESTIVAL: Between the months of December and January, Paragliding Festival is hosted for 26 days. The idea was put forward to make Satpura appear in the limelight as a paragliding destination. Apart from this activity, one can also opt for bike riding, zorbing, go-karting, and parasailing. Anyone can take part in this festival as training sessions are held for everyone which is why it is one of the major festivals of Gujarat. Every year the paragliding festival receives more than 5000 entries from far-flung places.
  • DANGS DARBAR TRIBAL FESTIVAL: Celebrated few days before Holi, Dang Darbar is an important Tribe festival of Gujarat. The Tribal festival is celebrated to honor the forefathers of the five kings of Gadhavi, Pimpri, Amala-Linga, Vasurana, and Daher. It takes place at Ahwa District in the month of March for one day.
  • POLO CYCLE RACE FESTIVAL: Those who looking for challenges, should take part in Polo Cycle Race. The race is 151 and 222 km long bumpy stretches. It starts from Ahmedabad and ends at Polo forest. The race takes place in the month of January.
SOMNATH

 Somnath, literally meaning ‘lord of the moon’ is a pilgrim center and is home to one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. It is a town which derives much of its identity from the mythology, religion, and legends that surround it.

Primarily a temple town, Somnath is a place where a strong scent of religion and legends lingers around tourism and even daily life. Its spiritual environment is ornamented by the huge number of temples in the area, however, Somnath also offers beaches, museums and other attractions. DWARKA

The western tip of the Saurashtra peninsula in Gujarat. Known as Devbhoomi Dwarka, Dwarka boasts of being the only city that is a part of both Char Dham and also Sapta Puris mentioned in the Hindu religion. Dwarka was a part of the ancient kingdom of Krishna and Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, is also located in Dwarka.

Legend has it that the city was once engulfed by the sea and recent excavations reveal that a city did exist here. The name Dwarka translates to dwar meaning ‘door’ and ka meaning ‘moksha’ meaning the ‘door to salvation.
