HOW TO REACH SIKKIM BY AIR :

Now Sikkim has its airport named Pakyong Airport which is 31 km from Gangtok.  It is one of the five highest airports in India at 4590 ft. This airport was inaugurated on the 24thof September 2018, and the first commercial flight operations started on the 4thof October 2018. Another nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri, West Bengal 124 km away from Gangtok.

Note: There is also a helicopter service available between Bagdogra and Gangtok, which takes 35 minutes one way.

HOW TO REACH SIKKIM BY RAIL :

The option of going to Sikkim by Train is also available. The nearest railway stations to Sikkim are Jalpaiguri, at a distance of 187 km, and Siliguri, at a distance of 146 km. Regular trains are available from prime Indian cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kochi. 

HOW TO REACH SIKKIM BY ROAD :

The capital city of Sikkim, Gangtok enjoys amazing road connectivity with neighboring and nearby cities including Darjeeling (96 km), Siliguri (118 km), and Kalimpong (75 km), to name mention a few. One can easily get luxury and roadways and state-run buses from Siliguri, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Kurseong for Gangtok. Though buses take a little long time you won’t regret the journey because the roads are scenic and pretty. Moreover, buses are economical too.

Another good, less time taking but a little pricey option would be cabs from New Jalpaiguri NJP which will take around 4 to 5 hours. The roads are quite well maintained and the sight of gorgeous hills and lush fields on the way look won’t leave your eyes anytime soon.

  7. Khecheopalri Lake: Khechepalri is located at a distance of 31 km from Pelling in West Sikkim. Khecheopalri means 'heaven of Padmasambhava', an 8th-century Buddhist master; and the lake is believed to be a wish-fulfilling lake.
  8. Rabdentse Ruins: Rabdentse Ruins is the archeological site that tells Sikkim’s story of glory. Until 1814 A.D, it was the second capital of Sikkim, established by the Chogyal II. Later on, after the Nepalese invasion in the 18th century, the palace and the monastery complex were destructed and turned into ruins.

For all the services contracted, a 25% advance payment should be made to hold the booking, on a confirmed basis & for flight ticket booking need full actual fare. The balance amounts need to be paid 10days before the commencement of the services. Management personnel holds the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as advance payment, based on the nature of the service & the time left for the commencement of the service.

Apart from the above in some cases like Special Train Journeys, hotels, or resorts bookings during the peak season (like X-Mas, New Year, Puja, Diwali), a 50% advance payment should be made to hold the booking and 20days before full payment is required to be paid.

Note: Above mentioned payment policy may change during peak season.
