DAY 01: ARRIVE GUWAHATI / TEZPUR TRANSFER TO BHALUKPONG
Upon arrival at Guwahati / Tezpur, welcomed by our representative and board the transport. Transfer to Bhalukpong which is at the border of the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and a place of enthralling scenic beauty. (Guwahati – 250kms / 7hrs & Tezpur 88kms / 2hrs). On arrival check into Hotel.
Enjoy the evening at leisure on your own.
DAY 02: BHALUKPONG TO DIRANG
Have your breakfast at the hotel and check out.
Today start your tour at the earliest. Today visit Tipi Orchidarium, on the banks of the river Bharali – which hosts over 2600 cultivated orchids from 80 different species.
Continue travel to Dirang (140kms / 7hrs). On your travel do not forget to keep your cameras handy as you cross beautiful waterfalls and get some spectacular views. Dirang is an almost picture-perfect Tibetan.
On the way, you will visit Hot Water Spring, Dirang Dzong, LDL Buddhist Monastery, etc.
On arrival check into Hotel.
DAY 03: DIRANG TO TAWANG VIA SANGTI VALLEY
Today you need to start at 08.30 am. Proceed for Sangti Valley (15kms / 1hr) - Most peaceful and romantic ghati, really amazing. It may prove to be an entrepreneur paradise for sheep and goat farming n horticulture.
After spending an hour you will star for Tawang - the Land of Hidden Paradise (160kms / 6hrs).
En-route witnesses the snowcapped Sella Pass (at 14000 ft), Sela Lake, and the Jaswant Garh War Memorial. (Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of 4th Batallion Garhwal Rifles), fought a lone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place.
On arrival check in to Hotel and enjoy the natural beauty and solitude of the Gudpi and Chong-Chugmi ranges, Tawang chu River, and Tawang Valley.
DAY 04: TAWANG
Have your breakfast and visit Tawang City.
Visit 400 years (17th century) old Tawang Monastery which is the second largest monastery in the world after Potala Palace in Tibet. The building is about 113 feet long and 80 feet wide and houses valuable antiquities, books, and manuscripts-handwritten and printed.
Later visit Tawang War Memorial, a 40-foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of the Sino-Indo War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley.
Afternoon visits the craft center in Tawang that sells beautiful masks, hand-woven carpets, and jewelry in silver, coral, and amber.
Evening at leisure on own.
DAY 05: TAWANG – BUMLA PASS – MADHURI LAKE - TAWANG
Have your breakfast at the hotel and start for the full-day excursion to Madhuri Lake & Bumla Pass. You need to hire local transport from the border, those having permits to visit the places.
The Sangestar Tso, formerly called Shonga-Tser Lake and popularly known as the Madhuri Lake, is located on the way from Tawang to Bum La Pass in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, near the Indo-China border above 15,200 ft above sea level.
The Bum La Pass is a border pass between Tibet's Cona County and India's Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh. It is 37 km away from the town of Tawang and 43 km from the town of Cona. The pass currently serves as a trading point between Tawang and Tibet. (Local cab cost need to pay directly on the spot)
Return to the hotel in the afternoon and you will have leisure time.
DAY 06: TAWANG – BOMDILA
Have your breakfast and transfer to Bomdila (170kms / 8hrs).
While returning visit Nuranng Falls - some 100 meters high, which is located in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in this part of the country, yet is unknown to many travelers.
On arrival at Bomdila, visit Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gompa), Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa), and Bomdila View Point. If you are in the season you can visit an Apple orchard full of red apples.
Evening check in to Hotel and free time for leisure.
DAY 07: BOMDIAL – GUWAHATI / TEZPUR
Have your breakfast and check out. If you are traveling to Guwahati, then need to start early to cover the long distance.
And if you are planning for Tezpur – on arrival at the charming town, visit attractive lakes and enchanting views of the mighty Brahmaputra River as it laps the town’s edge.
On arrival check into Hotel and stay.
DAY 08: DEPARTURE GUWAHATI / TEZPUR
After breakfast check out & on-time transfer to Airport/station for onward destination.
And in Guwahati preferred to take an afternoon/evening departure so after early breakfast you can make a visit to KAMAKHAYA TEMPLE - also known as Kamrup-Kamakhya temple, which is a Sakta temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas.
